Exodus 25–40
The Tabernacle: A Portable Garden of Eden
Cherubim tapestries, menorah almond blossoms, and eastward orientation replicating sacred Eden in the wilderness.
Every detail of the Tabernacle's architectural specification in Exodus is an explicit recreation of Edenic geography. The entrance faces east (matching Eden's eastward entrance guarded by cherubim), the pure gold Menorah is shaped as an almond Tree of Life, and the inner curtains are woven with cherubim guarding the Ark.
Graded Holiness and Sacred Space
The progression from the outer courtyard (bronze) to the Holy Place (silver and gold) to the Holy of Holies (pure beaten gold) forms a spatial ascent back into the immediate unmediated presence of the Creator.
