Revelation 1–22
The Decoded Architecture of Revelation
Liturgical temple liturgy and sevenfold cyclical recapitulation across John's Patmos vision.
The Book of Revelation is not a chronological calendar of catastrophic newspaper headlines, but an intricately constructed apocalyptic temple liturgy. The seals, trumpets, and bowls are sevenfold cycles of progressive spiritual recapitulation.
The Slain Lamb on the Throne
When John weeps because no one is worthy to open the scroll, the elder tells him to look at the 'Lion of Judah'. But when John turns, he sees 'a Lamb standing as though it had been slain' at the very center of the throne. Power in the divine economy is defined by self-giving sacrificial conquest.
